Interest-Free Loans for Going Electric Are Here!

Have you heard? The NSW Home Energy Saver program launched in June, and it’s a genuine game-changer for Central Coast households ready to ditch gas and cut power bills for good.

Still getting your head around it? No stress — we’re told this program is here to stay and the NSW government is committed to growing it. If you’ve been dreaming of solar, a battery, or an all-electric kitchen, now’s the time to start planning.

Electrify Bouddi is working with our partner installers to make this program work for our community. As it rolls out, we’ll keep you in the loop through our website, public forums, newsletters and more.

Phase One: $15,000 Interest-Free, Right Now

This is huge — eligible households can access a $15,000 loan per property, completely interest-free, repaid over up to 10 years. It’s open to owner-occupiers and renters (the landlord needs to agree) with a combined taxable income of $210,000 or less.

The loan covers an impressive range of upgrades:

  • Rooftop solar system
  • Residential battery
  • Switchboard upgrade
  • EV level 2 charger
  • Heat pump water heater
  • Solar water heater
  • Induction cooktop
  • Ceiling insulation
  • Draught-proofing
  • Double glazing
  • Reverse cycle air conditioner
  • DC ceiling fan
  • Home Energy Assessment

Best of all, you can draw down the loan in stages, so you can plan your upgrades at your own pace.

How to Get Started

To access the loan, you’ll need to go through an accredited installer. The network is growing every day, and while not every product is available on the Central Coast just yet, many of Electrify Bouddi’s partner installers are working towards accreditation — so ask them!

Installers are accredited through two organisations, Brighte and Plenti. Check both websites for the current list of accredited installers in your area.

Phase Two: Up to $4,000 Off, Coming Soon

There’s more on the horizon. In phase two, households earning up to $80,000 combined (or holding an eligible concession card) will be able to claim a discount of up to $4,000 on the same list of products. This part isn’t live yet, but we’re told it’s coming soon.

For bigger projects, eligible households will be able to combine the discount with the low-interest loan to cover any costs above $4,000 — making even larger upgrades achievable.
