Make a connection by volunteering
There are so many ways that you can contribute to Electrify Bouddi, whatever your skills or experience.
Our volunteers work in small project teams to explore ideas and create practical, trusted information for the community. It’s a great way to dive into a topic you care about, learn new things, build skills, and make friends — all while helping Bouddi move towards a cleaner future.
Join a project team
No experience? No problem. You don’t need an energy or tech background to join a project team — just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Whether you like research, writing, design, or community outreach, there’s a spot for you in one of our friendly teams.
Project teams typically help with things like:
- Collecting examples of what local residents and businesses are doing
- Working with partner installers to make sure services are high quality
- Creating simple systems to track solar, battery and heat pump installations
- Researching community battery and microgrid examples across Australia
- Preparing content for our website, social media and newsletters.
Our project teams
Our project teams join together small groups of volunteers to focus on key areas such as managing our finances, developing our website and helping to provide real-world guidance and trusted information to the community. Each team is led by a co-ordinator and regularly reports their progress to the Steering Committee. There are four cross-cutting teams:
- Awareness and Sharing Knowledge (ASK)
- Website
- Grants and fundraising
- Impact evaluation
There are seven working groups which focus on a particular issue:
- Home batteries and solar rooftops
- Community batteries
- Electric vehicles
- Hot water
- Holiday homes and weekender
- Microgrids
- Shifting consumption to daytime
Currently active teams are shown in the diagram.
