If you have installed a Sigenergy home battery, this news item is relevant to you.
Problems have recently been identified with particular Sigenergy components. The technical name of these components are single phases 8/10/12kW Energy Controllers with quick connect AC plugs.
These AC plug components have been recalled as they may overheat, become damaged and pose a fire risk – particularly when installed incorrectly.
We understand that there have been no incidents of this type in Bouddi to date, but Electrify Bouddi’s partnered installers are in the process of contacting their customers.
If you have a Sigenergy battery, we strongly recommend that you contact your installer to clarify what action they are taking.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued the following advice to affected consumers:
- Ensure your solar and battery systems are connected to the internet so they can receive a software update to allow Sigenergy to monitor your system proactively and temporarily reduce the AC output to prevent overheating. This has probably already occurred if you have maintained an internet connection.
- Sigenergy will provide a free replacement product which will be installed for all affected consumers.
